una excursión

I know that yesterday was Father’s Day—and I did spend a lot of time with my dad—but I also took a beautiful bike trip with my brother.

The weather was perfect, sunny and not too hot, so we rode to the end of Sandy Hook.  There’s a historic army fort—Fort Hancock—and a great view of New York City.  If you look closely, you can see the new World Trade Center (it’s the tallest building), and if you look even closer, you can see the Empire State Building.

All in all, we rode about 20 miles—the first 10 were nice because the wind was at our backs.  The last 10 made us work as we peddled (and groaned) into the wind!

(and if you're keeping track—we had spaghetti, homemade gravy, and hot Italian sausage for dinner!)
